It often pays to be first. There certainly is true in the car industry as well. Especially when it comes to rare limited-production models that everyone wants but not a lot of people can get. The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is turning out to be a perfect example of how much difference a year makes when it comes to pricing. Let’s take a closer look.

I took a look at a one of these 14 months ago when they first hit the streets and that specific example had an asking price of $570,000. That is $235,000 over the sticker. Wouldn’t you know, as the new year came and went, the prices started falling pretty hard. You can literally see evidence of this in the last nine public sales with the first car listed back in January selling for $516,000, but now a year later you have one selling for $400,000. What a difference a year makes.
Today, we have this example down in Florida finished in the cool designo Brillant Blue Magno that I personally love compared to the silver and black shades. Interesting to note that this color, Magma Beam Orange, and the signature AMG Green Hell Magno are the only real “colors” offered, but the latter is a $10,000 option. All that being said, this one is priced right at $400,000. I think this dealer is actually paying attention. Would this be a $500,000 asking price if it was suddenly December 2021 again? I would guess so. Curious if these keep creeping down as they grow older and more hit the market.

Doesn’t 3K miles seem like a bit much for a 2021? Is this a daily driver? /s
Probably a good candidate for the Vancouver market a lot of Rich Asian Kids who would drive something like this which is really more of a track car looks pretty out of place running on town streets
…aaaand it’s GONE..!!!!
