A few days ago driving through traffic, a lean, low and angular shape drifted in between cars ahead of me. It stood out mostly because it was so different than the pool of SUVs it swam through. Like a shark parting a school of mackerel, it was a beautiful 840ci with M-System II wheels fit, and it was positively beautiful to see. What really struck me was the size though, more than anything else. I’ve never really thought of the 8-series as a small car – but there it was, dwarfed by the modern automobiles that surrounded it. Most other drivers ignored the door-wedge profile, but I sat transfixed remembering how revolutionary this car was when it was launched. When I happened across this 1995 840ci in my searches, a car which Paul featured back in January, I couldn’t help but want to write it up:

The striking Amaranth Violet 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, which we featured almost exactly one year ago, has come back up for sale from a new seller. As one of the much more rare shades we ever see there is sure to be a good deal of interest here, but whether it can find a new buyer we shall have to wait and see. It’s wearing different wheels now than in its previous auction and still sports a few modifications so it isn’t as original as some collectors might hope, but the color is one you’ll almost never come across. Purple isn’t the most popular color on a car, but it really does look mighty good here.

3 CommentsThe very low mileage Black 1986 Porsche 930 Coupe with the fantastic Cancan Red leather interior, which we featured in December, remains up for sale. The price has not yet moved so this seller remains patient. The price is high, but this is definitely a very interesting example of this iconic performance coupe.

1 CommentThe rare Linen Grey over Mahogany 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster we featured in early February is back up for sale. The price has been lowered ever so slightly to $153K. Almost as rare as its color, this Speedster actually has had a decent number of miles put on it so that usage will balance the color combination. We’ll have to see if there is increased interest so this Speedster can find a new home.
