Feature Listing: 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe

While it took a backseat to the Carrera 4 during the initial release of the all-new 964, the more traditional layout of the Carrera 2 remains a favorite of many in the 911 world. On the current market it also falls into a very nice place for those hoping to find some value in the 911 market. With its modern underpinnings relative to the 3.2 Carrera that preceded it, the 964 provides the improved refinement and performance desired by many enthusiasts packaged in a design that still bears a strong resemblance to the classic 911 upon whose shoulders it stood. Better still, prices remain quite reasonable, especially when factoring in those technological advancements. Collectors have not yet begun to take a strong liking to these basic Carreras and as such it is a great time to jump into one as they can make an excellent choice for those looking for their first 911 without having to get caught up in the air-cooled collector craze. Here we have one of the early examples: an Indischrot 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe, located in New York, with Black leather interior and 86,756 miles on it.

We have a ton of photos to work with here and quite a few detail shots through which we can get a pretty good impression of the overall condition of this Carrera 2 even from afar. That overall impression is quite good. The India Red paint shows nicely with good pop and the interior looks in very nice shape with little wear to the seats and carpets. There are a couple of exterior blemishes illustrated in the photos, but they don’t appear to be of the sort that would suggest any significant issues. As a one-owner car we can hope the maintenance records are extensive and provide a fuller picture of the car’s history, but it’s apparent that it has been shown a good deal of care through its life. A good 964 certainly isn’t a cheap vehicle by any means, but for someone looking to experience a modern air-cooled 911 without having to break the bank an example like this one should have a ton of life left in it and provide an excellent sense of what all the fuss is about.

Anybody have thoughts on the Canadian title. Is this an issue registering in the USA? Does it need to be “imported”?

$40k isn’t expensive for a 1990 car? Seems to me the speculators have noticed the 964 as well. I really like the looks of Porsches of this era.

dealers try to give you back no money or as less as possible.try to sell it and then buy one of a lot or from an inidudival seller. when u have cash and wanna buy a car everybody comes down on their price but if u wanna finance or trade the never give you room for bargenning.
