The Porsche 911 Targa is one of those true ‘have your cake and eat it too’ cars that has been carrying on for a few decades now. After all, it was created to answer the rumor that the US was going to ban the sale of convertible cars due to safety reasons, but Porsche, and most importantly their customers, still wanted open-air motoring. What started as a simple removable roof panel transformed into a piece of sliding glass over generations, and now we have an extremely complex folding roof mechanism that you pray never has a fault with it. Still, when it works, it is amazing. So what do you say – are you a Targa fan or not?

As much as the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring was theoretically produced in an attempt to curb the insane mark-up prices on the 911 R, it seems like they didn’t produce enough. Based on the recent prices, a lot more people want GT3 Tourings than are out there. As for the 911 R? Good luck even finding one. If they do turn up, bring a barrel of money. Several barrels of money. This example up for sale in Houston with 158 miles? Do I need to even so more?

4 CommentsI wanted to swing back to the GT3 Touring market after seeing the example a few weeks ago get snapped up quick, along with a 1,000-mile example sell for way over sticker. Even with the 992 GT3 finally breaking cover as the worst secret ever, it is looking like the 991 GT3 Touring will be the one to have and to hold. Still, this is a gamble to pay over sticker price with the expectation that the price will always hold at that. Especially considering there is talk of a 992 GT3 Touring in 2023 with a traditional manual gearbox. Still, this is Miami Blue we are talking about. Worth rolling the dice?

4 CommentsLast week’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 was about as close as you can get for an instant classic. I highly doubt any of them ever traded under sticker and probably never will. Is that typical? No, not even for 911s. They are simply too many of them and people always want new things. However, this is a newer 911 that while maybe won’t double in price, they sure don’t seem to be straying too far from sticker price. Hello, GT3 Touring.
