2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

The 997 Porsche 911 Turbo is quickly becoming a car to buy and hold, and recent prices are reflecting that. I think it might be a little bit of “rising tide lifts all boats” now that GT3 prices are shooting up along with basically every other 911, but there is an argument to be had for these pre-facelift models being total bargains compared to the GT cars. I don’t think I am alone here, and prices for the 997 are never going to be any cheaper.

Today’s car, a 2007 up for sale in Indiana, is a paint-to-sample example finished in Nordic Gold Metallic with a Special Cocoa leather interior. Not exactly a silver-over-black model we are all used to, but surely something you can live with given this will likely be a reactional car. The catch is, I hope you won’t miss the clutch pedal.

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

One of the cars that seems to have turned the corner in terms of its valve bottoming out and is now on a rise is the 997 Porsche 911 Turbo. It seems for a handful of years these hung out well under $100,000, but never down under $50,000 like the previous generation 996 did. Everyone knew they were fine cars, but most preferred the facelift 997.2 for the upgraded looks, equipment, and addition of the PDK gearbox in place of the outdated Tiptronic box. However, it is now 2021 and everyone is going crazy for good used sports cars, so here we are.

This 2007 911 Turbo up for sale in Miami thankfully has the six-speed manual gearbox and is finished in a very sublime color combo of Lapis Blue over an Ocean Blue leather interior. The good news? It only has 26,000 miles. The bad news? That means it is expensive.

2008 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet

Did you really like the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in Anthracite Brown from a few weeks ago? Need even more brown? Boy, do I have the car for you.

This is a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet finished in Macadamia Metallic with Macadamia Metallic wheels, a Cocoa soft top, and a Natural Leather Cocoa interior. That should cover all of it, literally. I’m almost disappointed they didn’t paint the calipers brown as well. All joking aside, I think the result is fairly reasonable looking. You are correct if you guessed it was also ordered with the Tiptronic gearbox, but that is what you deal with when looking at modern 911 Cabs. So is there just too much brown, or is it just unique enough?

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet

Just to wash the bad taste out of our mouth from the paint-to-sample 993 Turbo earlier this week, I thought I’d look at a shade that is a lot more pleasant. This is a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet finished in paint-to-sample … something purple. The seller says it is “Lavender,” however I don’t recall that being an option for the paint-to-sample cars. This looks much more like Vesuvio Metallic or a shade very close to that. It doesn’t scream purple like an Ultraviolet, but rather has a little bit of a grey tint in it. Personally, I like it. But maybe not on this exact example.

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Sometimes what you see isn’t always what the reality might be. That of course applies to colors of cars as well. When I look at the photo above and process what color that is, I would say navy blue. It has a little lighter hue, but a nice dark blue is where I would put my money. However, Porsche will tell you that you are not worthy of judging a color as they are calling the shade “Atlas Grey Metallic”. Naturally I went over to Google and did an image search for Atlas Grey Metallic and what pops up is a bunch of cars that still look navy blue to me. Am I out of touch here?
