I love the fact that the only way to get 4MATIC all-wheel-drive on the W210 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG was to buy it in wagon form. Not just any wagon, as some were still rear-wheel drive, but rather you had to option one with 4MATIC. Naturally, this is a huge deal for traction given the massive amount of torque these and also for usability given this is a wagon after all. This 2000 up for sale outside of Zürich seemed to take advantage of that usability judging by the number of miles it racked up.

Now that the summer is drawing to a close, we inch closer to another year where the clock moves one year ahead on the 25-year import rule for those who live in the United States. For certain cars that were built early in the model year like September and October, this is a big difference marker. What I mean by that is if you are looking to import 1998 model year, that doesn’t mean you have to wait until 2023. If that door sticker says “09/97” but it is a 1998 model year, you are good to go. But remember this could also work against you if it is made several months into that current model year.
Today’s car isn’t that case quite yet, but it is getting there and the hard work of getting it on North American soil is already done. Yes, this is 2001 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Estate up for sale in British Columbia at a still somewhat reasonable price. Although, what if I told you there was a way to bring this thing in the US legally right now?

2 CommentsWhen it comes to the old rule of Mercedes-Benz wagons are worth significantly more than their sedan counterparts, the AMG models are no exception. It is basically having your cake and eating it too, only this cake is really rare and extremely hard to find given they didn’t make many at all. Today’s car is a currently forbidden fruit as it isn’t 25-years-old yet, but the clock is ticking fast and it will be legal in no time. Say hello 1998 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG Wagon.

1 CommentWell, that didn’t take long. For years, I’ve been trying to predict a more expensive future for the W210 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG and it sure seems to be coming true. The really prime examples are bringing crazy money and it sure seems dealers are suddenly now chasing them. This 2001 model-year example up for sale in California sure seems to be that following that trend with just 34k miles and what appears to be outstanding conditioning; at least, at first glance. Let’s take a look.

5 CommentsColor me blue. This 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG is finished in Bright Blue Metallic, which is a shade I’ve never seen on the W211 E55 before. Almost every E55 of this generation was painted is painted in some sort of silver, grey, black, or beige, and bright colors like this are very rarely ever seen. Nary a green or navy blue to be found. Even better, wait until you see what is inside! There is one problem however…I hope you speak Dutch.
