Here we have another Porsche 930 Coupe, in certain ways similar to the Guards Red 930 we featured earlier in the week in that it’s from around the time when Porsche returned the model to the US market and appears to me to be a pretty reasonable value. However, this one brings with it one serious distinction: it’s paint-to-sample Garnet Red Metallic over a really nicely contrasting Cashmere Beige and Burgundy interior. The mileage is quite reasonable at 40,700 as well! This one could be a good example of a 930 that strikes the right balance between collector and driver. Meaning: it’s low enough miles and interesting enough that collectors should take notice, but has enough miles that it can be used (at least sparingly) without harming its value. Not bad at all.

The Garnett red PTS paint is really a unique and elegant color that has different shades under different light! The tan interior contrast the exterior perfectly and both remain in near flawless condition. Being a special ordered car from factory there were numerous options but the most important would be 4 way Sport Seats and Limited slip Differential.
The engine and transmission remain completely stock and have no issues, no unusual noises or smoke on start up. Clutch grabs perfectly and has no slippage, pulls through every gear hard. Included will be an incar drive. The car has been lowered to Euro spec and aligned, full factory exhaust but catalytic has been removed which does help the engine flow better and keep the turbo cooler. Aftermarket radio is in place but original is included.
Very hard to find a reasonably priced California car with good options, colors, and low mileage!

This dealer tends to have a good number of interesting cars and I’ve featured a few. However, in many cases the documentation never seems to be just as we’d like it. We seem to have a similar case here as we don’t have anything to verify that this is paint-to-sample. It being paint-to-sample is certainly important and it shouldn’t be too hard to determine. Along those lines we’ll want to verify it has not be repainted as well. Those are the glaring issues I see, but we could make a good argument that the mileage and condition are worthy of this asking price even if the paint was not to sample, but rather just one of the less common options for that year. That would raise plenty of other questions about the car, notably whether the color combination is original to the car, but hopefully some investigation can bring with it the results we need. It’s a lovely contrast of colors that should have broad appeal and everything looks in nice shape. We just need to work out the details and I think this could make for a nice buy.
