I suppose it is a testament to the current Porsche market that it seems like we are more frequently coming across attempted sales of the 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster. Harking back to the original 356 Speedster, these featured the mechanicals of the 3.2 Carrera but added a raked, removable, windscreen and removed the rear seats in favor of a hard tonneau cover. As an homage to a weekend racer, these were always destined to be collectors and, like most, the example featured here has predominantly spent its life in a garage as it shows only 8,639 miles on the clock and appears nearly spotless inside and out.

TIME CAPSULE…is the best way to describe this 1989 Speedster ! We purchased directly from the first and only owner. She bought it NEW. With only 8,639 miles, this is definitely the finest example you will see of an 89 Speedster. Paint, Body, Interior is suspended in time…first owner had sheepskins on this car from the day she bought it until the day she sold it to us, so Leather is still factory fresh. Every detail about this car is remarkable, down to its original set of tires date stamped in 1988 when the car was built, it’s still got the original air in the tires. Car just underwent full service after coming out of storage in the last owners garage for all of those years, complete gas tank/fluid/flush change, belts, etc, no expense spared, still on it’s first set of brake pads at 95% which gives you some idea of how it’s only owner drove gently for very few miles over the last 25 years. Has all it’s books, original window sticker, AC delete car in Grand Prix White with Tan, factory short shift, Factory Grand Prix White Fuchs, Original Blaupunkt Reno, Tool Kit that’s never been used, factory gloves, etc. Truly Outstanding Speedster in every way !
A one-owner, fully-documented, low-mileage Speedster is sure to go for top dollar, but even on the hallowed ground upon which these cars tread $175K seems above market. With that said, every time I come across a Speedster the price has moved higher yet again so while this car may not sell at this price the Speedster certainly seems to be on an upward trajectory.
