If you’ll pardon me just a moment I’m going to return to the 964 briefly. Partly because I like this particular 911 as it looks in very nice condition and is a unique color combination. But also in part because it makes for such a good comparison with the Japanese market Carrera 2 from last week. That car sold and had a higher asking price than this one so we may then be able to get some understanding of the premium attached to those RoW cars as they make their way to the US. For buyers with an interest in those cars hopefully this serves as a useful data point. Or maybe just buy this one!
Here we have a Stone Grey Metallic 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe, located in Houston, with Burgundy leather interior and 56,991 miles on it.

Stone Grey (or Pebble Grey as they’ve called it) isn’t quite as desirable to me as Slate Grey, but it does offer a very similar exterior if in a little bit lighter tone. The Burgundy interior provides a really nice contrast and serves to liven things up quite a bit because let’s be honest Stone Grey isn’t the most exciting and if it were paired with a more standard color it would be too boring. It is the interior that I find most striking on this 911 as it presents extremely well. Everything looks crisp and clean and the color contrast is very sharp. The radio is an aftermarket unit, but otherwise the rest looks original and it comes with the always desirable sport seats.
So it looks great and the mileage is low, but from there we have little else to go on. At this asking price we’re going to need to know its history and have most, if not all, of its supporting documentation and service records. Hopefully those details will be available and if they are then we should see this one fetch a pretty good price. I’m not sure about $70K, but as I noted at the start the Japanese model was listed for $78K so this probably wouldn’t be completely insane though certainly on the high end. We’ll have an eye on it to see what happens.

1990s had flag mirrors so this one has been updated.
Also has the later base 16″ Cup wheels rather than the stock D90s. Some 17″ Cup wheels would be perfect. Add some KW V3 coilovers and RS sways and this 964 would be perfect.
