I believe I have mentioned before a White 964 Carrera 4 that roams around my neighborhood. I see it from time to time on the occasional weekend excursion or, even more commonly, parked on the street. It never fails to attract my gaze and it’s recognizable even at night with those headlights directed right at you as it approaches. The most mysterious aspect for me is that I am so taken by a white car. I’m not a huge fan of white cars and most of them I find very boring. That said, I have always found that it is a color that works on particular models very well. The 964 appears to be one of those models. I can’t say why that is, but for me at least it is the case. This brings us to the car we see here, a Grand Prix White 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6, located in Houston, with a Classic Grey leather interior and 58,203 miles on it. While Grand Prix White itself doesn’t strike me as a particularly rare color it has been pretty rare to come across a Turbo 3.6 in Grand Prix White. Like the Carrera 4 with which I have such a passing familiarity, the color works quite well here and coming in the guise of the fantastic Turbo 3.6 simply makes it that much better.

The 3.6 Turbo produced by Porsche in 1994 as the final integration of the 964 “Turbo 2” platform has achieved legendary type status among Porschephiles and serious collectors. With a limited number of cars delivered to the US, it is exciting to find any examples on the market today as many owners are reluctant to part with them.
Offered here is a great highly optioned example in attractive colors of Grand Prix White with Gray supple leather interior. Overall this car shows very well in beautiful colors which are true to Porsche’s racing heritage. The turbo’s VIN identification tags are found adhered to the door jambs, doors, trunk, hood, and the factory options sticker is still found under the hood. Additionally the car retains its factory paint tag, stickers, and 3 piece Speedline wheels, along with 90% original paint (see depth chart).
A 2016 “Major Service” included: new spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, warm-up-regulator rebuilt to OEM specs, tachometer backlight repaired, new cutoff valve, OEM dual-mass flywheel and correct release bearing – with new rear main seal installed at same time, oxygen sensor, oil and filter change, transmission fluid change with limited slip additive (vehicle has upgraded limited slip differential) and new boost pressure sender. Showing just 58,000 miles this very well cared and original example comes with clean Carfax and AutoCheck history reports, Owner’s manuals, Maintenance booklets, air compressor, toolkit, spare, and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Here is a great opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable of all the air cooled Porsche models -We welcome and are happy to help arrange inspections and worldwide shipping.
The Turbo 3.6 is one of those “holy grail” types of cars that elicit a good deal excitement among 911 fans in general and 964 aficionados in particular. It marked the last of the rear-drive only Turbos and in that regard stands as one of the more serious driver’s machines Porsche has produced this side of a GT2. Naturally, demand is high and so are prices. The asking price here likely is too high given that this one is close to 60K miles, but the 964 market has been slightly tougher to judge, in part, I think, due to the high number of variants available during the model’s brief life span. Like many other air-cooled 911s I have a sense that the market has settled down after a significant rise over the past year, but models like the Turbo 3.6 should always be in significant demand.

these were never really in expensive but in the last few years have shot up dramatically in price..
some garage queen examples well above the quarter-million mark
I’m not a buyer at that price point, but for $236k I would expect to see the original and super rare Speedline wheels. Are the off-the-shelf Speedline Alesios that are currently on the car “nice”? Of course they are. However, as far as this author is concerned, if you’re spending $236k (which is their “discounted” price) I’d want WAY better than “nice”!
Not to mention bent front lower grill slats
