1996 Porsche 911 Turbo

After last week’s auctions, I’ll turn to a 911 that would have been right at home being featured at any one of them. Desirable model, very reasonable mileage, apparent pristine condition, and an elegant color combination. While perhaps not as rare as some of the models we see reach top dollar at those auctions, this 993 Turbo would certainly hold its own and its buyer could take it home knowing that he wouldn’t have to preserve it under cover at every moment. Sure, we’re not likely to see it banging around with a set of snow tires in mid-January, but it still can be enjoyed quite a bit when the weather turns nicer. So here we have an Arena Red 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo, located in Houston, with Marble Grey leather interior and 38,300 miles on it.

Clear Carfax, no damage history

Believe it or not this seems like one of the higher mileage cars we’d see from RPM, but the condition comes across as no worse than any of those ultra-low mileage examples we’ve come across previously. Arena Red versus Guards Red is certainly a matter of subjectivity, but I think for those who may want their prodigious performance to come with a greater does of civility then Arena Red is the way to go. It tones down the shoutiness of Guards Red, without itself coming across as boring. This is also a case where I don’t mind the grey interior, though I do think one of the various tan options would have been better. It’s an elegant looking Turbo and other than a few creases in the leather presents in seemingly new condition. Given all of this the asking price even strikes me as fairly reasonable compared with many other 993 Turbos we come across. We don’t have any word on its history outside of recent servicing and perhaps that will hold it back, but I can’t imagine this one hangs around for too long.

This would be a nice accompaniment to the “Kills Bugs Fast” Porsche poster in the garage. And with a few miles on it, you won’t be killing the value if you decide to actually drive it around a bit.
