For all the Turbos, Club Sports, Slantnoses and miscellaneous other exclusive 911 models, there’s still something special for me about a standard, unmolested Carrera. Like many P-car fans, one of my favorites is the 993. This car struck a great balance between classic and modern. It’s been 15 years since production ended but these cars have firmly established themselves as a modern classic. This 1997 911 Carrera for sale in Miami is not a garage queen, but a moderately used example that would be attractive for someone seeking to use their classic 911 as intended.

It’s rather impressive that these 911s have retained the majority of their retail value from new. Few other cars of that era can brag about this, but perhaps it speaks to the brilliance of this particular Porsche. The follow up act of the water-cooled 996 series was less than well received, which helps to bolster the image and value of the 993 series 911. Depending on mileage, you can still find 993 Coupes in the $30,000 range. Considering comparable 911 Carreras I’ve seen lately, the asking price for this car isn’t too far off, if perhaps a few thousand dollars high. Perhaps the uncommon color is being taken into consideration, or the full documentation that is available. However, give it a few years at most and I’d suspect a 911 like this will have no problem pulling $50,000.

Hi all, I don’t post comments much, but one of the best parts of my day is looking at GCFSB updates. Thanks to inspiration from GCFSB, eventually I put boring family haulers behind me and got my hands on a lovely red 2002 S6 wagon, not an easy find in remote Eastern Canada. Such a pleasure to man up with family hauling – best car I have owned. As with many of you I am a car classified geek and ran across this ad, wondering how can this 993 not be a great deal? With what looks to be a rare white paint color with porsche livery and only 35’ish k miles, this 993 looks almost new. At $50k Canadian asking price, south of the border it is possible to put in an offer, factor in exchange, and lock this up for low 40s. What’s puzzling is this ad has been posted for almost 2 months and is about to expire soon. I would buy it myself of I had this kind of money!

Hi Rich, thanks for the compliments. We appreciate our readers taking the time to engage on the site and on our Facebook page. The 993 looks to be a good value. Quite a shame there are not better pictures, but could possibly be a good deal if detailed servicing history could be nailed down and it would pass a pre purchase inspection.
