The last year of the R230 SL in 2011 gave you a color choice of white, silver, gray, silver, gray, silver, black, black, black and two different shades of red if you wanted to really get wild. Despite this generation being eight years old in 2011, Mercedes did a really nice job of keeping this design fresh. Heavy updates to the front fascia and some minor refreshing to the interior could have this car passing as new if you aren’t really keen on your Mercedes models. This specific example looks close to perfect for being a hair over 43,000 miles and the $44,000 price is right in the middle of the pack of where 2011 SL550s are trading. The Mauritius Blue should bring a premium over all the other standard colors but it’s tough to tell with late-model cars like this. Either way, a breath of fresh area from the usually sea of earth tone cars.

I was dreading this being gray inside. It’s amazing what a nice color on the outside with some wood and a complementary color on the inside can do — and a lack of ostentatious, strutting techno inside. How sad that when that happens it seems to be so 90s and of a bygone age.
Wasn’t 2012 actually the last year of the R230?
