The king of the current 911s, the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, finally has hit the ground and a few of them are popping up for sale so I thought I’d put together a post to highlight some of those I have seen. I doubt these are the only ones currently available; I also doubt you’ll have any trouble finding others up for sale in the coming months. Like the current GT3 and the GT3 RS before it (and like the 991.2 GT3 RS soon to hit our shores) ample opportunities will exist to get your hands on a very lightly used example. Assuming you want to pay the substantial markup. In the case of the GT2 RS we’re talking anywhere from $150K to $200K over MSRP. That’s basically an entire GT3 by itself and means you’re looking at over $500K all in.
So what are you getting? A 3.8 liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 delivering 700 hp via Porsche’s 7-speed PDK transmission only to the rear wheels. Relative to a Turbo S it’s also lost 286 pounds in weight. Add the Weissach package, as all of the below have, and you lose another 40 pounds while adding a bunch of carbon fiber details. You also can have a lot of red in the interior should you so desire. It’s lapped the Nürburgring nearly 10 seconds faster than a 918 Spyder and those are not exactly slow cars. So, um, yeah performance will be insane. Do you need all of that performance? Of course not. Do you want it? Most definitely!

We have for sale our 2018 Porsche GT2RS in the PTS color Lizard Green over black interior with green stitching. This car will be delivered in November. The MSRP is $360,000 and we’re selling it for $550,000 OBO.
This is one of the very few cars that was allowed to be PTS and have the Weissach option. Since they haven’t made a GT2RS in Lizard before, there is no photo. But the one below is close, and the GT3RS photo is the exact color. Contact us for more info and to see the full build sheet.

Obviously, the last of these stands out the most. The combination of the Weissach Package and PTS was not supposed to be available for the GT2 RS in the U.S. market, but obviously that is not the case. Supposedly this is not the only one, but they are sure to be more rare and more desirable than a non-PTS example. In that regard I guess we’d have to consider it the most “reasonably” priced since the ask isn’t all that much more than the others we see here. Assuming, of course, you don’t mind waiting a few months to get your hands on it. Also, since it does not currently exist these aren’t the actual pictures, but they give an idea.
As for the others, there are only subtle difference between them. I like the Guards Red one the best, but that’s because I’d rather have red than silver. Perhaps the most interesting to have an eye on is the one set up as a reserve auction. Bidding sits at $450,100 so we’re well off the asking price of $515K and the auction nearly is at an end. I imagine that $450K price is a little more realistic for a non-PTS car, but we’ll have to see what happens with it.
The market for the previous GT2 RS has shown very high premiums and the assumption is that this one will as well. Will it? Perhaps. The last GT2 RS was limited production and only 500 were produced. I don’t know how many of the current model will be produced, but Porsche likely will make them until buyers disappear. So if you’re patient prices will come down. Will they ever come down very far such that only a small markup will exist? I guess we’ll have to find out.

My local dealer was prepping a yellow example the other day as I rolled through the lot. I have to admit, although I conceptually knew it was an incredible car, it’s somehow a bit vulgar to me and I find myself liking the far less ostentatious examples out there. I didn’t really give it a second look.
Never heard of 0 miles car. Don’t they usually put a few miles in factory testing?
@Z the one I saw at the dealer was moving, so yeah, I’d have to agree. I see them arrive at the port and they drive ~1/2 a mile there, then get loaded, and I’m sure there would be at least some mileage off the transport and around the dealer lot.
Since that GT2 RS doesn’t yet exist the seller can’t know the number of delivery miles. It won’t be zero, but they’ve listed it at zero since they don’t know the actual mileage.
