1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

It’s summertime and even though here in the Mid-Atlantic our weather isn’t always ideal for top-down motoring there are still many parts of the country where such joys can most easily be experienced this time of year. In that vein, here we have a very nice Guards Red 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, located in California, with 138,589 miles on it. Coming in the second-to-last year of classic 911 production this Cabriolet will show the peak refinement these cars achieved including possessing the highly-desirable G50 transmission (a fact this seller seems almost too aware of given how often it is mentioned in the ad).

For a 26-year-old car nearing 140K miles this Carrera Cabriolet presents quite well. The paint appears to have good depth and brightness and the interior appears to be in especially good condition. With that said, I don’t think there is any chance this car sells for its Buy It Now price, a reality reflected in the bidding currently sitting at $20,100. We’ve seen examples of the 3.2 Carrera sell in the mid-$40,000s but those cars had half the mileage and were in equal if not better condition. Still, every car has its price and for any buyer looking for a 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet, a little negotiation (and patience) should turn this into a good opportunity.
