1997 Mercedes-Benz SL500 40th Anniversary Edition

40th1

About a month ago I featured a 1997 SL320 40th Anniversary Edition. Today’s car is also a 40th Anniversary Edition — although a SL500 and not a SL320. With the smaller straight-six production being limited to 250 models, the V8 had twice that number (despite what the sellers ad says) with 500. The SL500 was only produced in Crimson Red Metallic with “Exquisite” parchment leather, some fancy floormats and EVO II wheels. Seeing as these don’t come up for sale often, let’s take a look at this R129 outside of Boston.

2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG

red1

I don’t feature a lot of newer AMG cars. It usually takes a really special example of what is already a special car for me to take a second look. What we have today is one of those cars. This 2012 E63 AMG for sale in California takes an already extremely fast W212 and adds a little extra power with some special options. So let’s take a look at what this Affalterbach rocket has to offer.

Michael Schumacher’s 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL 6.0 AMG

ms1

I hope your Monday is going well, but if by high chance it’s not, hopefully this car can change that. Today we have a bonkers 1986 560SL 6.0 AMG and just to make it even better, it was owned by none other than Michael Schumacher. This R107 is a creation of ex-AMG engineer and current owner of Mercedes tuner MKB Pano Avramidis who took an already crazy 560SL 6.0 AMG and added a healthy dose of modern Mercedes upgrades. Of course all this comes with a very hefty price. So let’s take a look at this R107 AMG for sale in Monaco.

‘1936’ Mercedes-Benz 230 Cabriolet “B”

cab1

Update 1/17/19: After not selling in 2016 for $199,000, this rare 230 Cabriolet B has been correctly relisted as a 1937 model for $189,000.

I don’t usually look at a lot of pre-war Mercedes for a number of reasons. A few of them are they are very rare (and expensive), it’s tough to find solid information on them that’s not in German and lastly I’m not expert on them. So naturally when I see them and start digging into the specifics, I get lost and confused which leads me back to a W126 or R129 where I’m much more comfortable. Today’s car is no different. A 1936 230 Cabriolet ”B” that has a bunch of things that I try to make sense of but just end up asking more questions. So let’s take a look at this blue cabriolet that’s on its way to California.

2002 Mercedes-Benz S500 with 5,100 miles

2201

Recently I looked at a couple unique W220s in a short wheelbase 2006 S350 and an armored 2001 S500. Today’s car isn’t anything odd or unique, just a regular 2002 S500. But makes it special is that it just happens to have only a little over 5,000 miles and look basically brand new. So lets take a look at this W220 up for sale in California before it starts rusting away and the interior buttons peel.
