This is the second time I have seen this Porsche 930. It came up for sale about a month ago with a really nice price, but some pretty poor pictures. You could get a sense of that beautiful Minerva Blue paint, but the overall impression was muted. Still, it sold very quickly and I wasn’t able to feature it. Well, it’s back. The price is now higher, which shouldn’t surprise us, and the pictures are now much better. Minerva Blue is one of the better shades of blue Porsche has offered and makes a nice alternative to the pastel blues that are also highly prized, but without quite so much ostentation. It’s a color that is vibrant without being flashy and it looks fantastic on the 930. Like the Granite Green Metallic 930 I featured last week this is another very interesting and rarely seen color on the 930 and also like last week this one comes from the final year these cars were equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission. So here we have a Minerva Blue Metallic 1988 Porsche 930 Coupe, located in New Jersey, with a dark blue leather interior and 133,622 miles on it.

The earlier listing for this 930 had it priced at $75K so the asking price here represents a nice return given the time frame. At $75K it seemed like a really nice value, and at almost $89K it doesn’t seem too terribly priced either but given the mileage we are moving outside of reasonable territory. That said, this sort of higher mileage example could make for an excellent option for those who’d like a 930 to enjoy. Obviously, it needs a thorough PPI to verify its condition, but if everything checks out then this is a beautiful 930 and hopefully this time it can go to a new owner who will cherish it for a long time.

Minerva blue is heaven — sheer celestial.
In the last two years I’ve noticed there are suddenly a lot of similar shades, even on very cheap cars, but none are so refined; they are either too electric or too tropical.
In that regard, the rear-end shot of this car I think shows the color as more brutishly oversaturated than it really is; not Photoshopped but maybe just an effect of the showroom lighting.
I still kick myself when I had the opportunity to buy a 996 GT3 in Minerva Blue the only one produced (04) just could not swing it….owner was selling to make room for his 997 GT3RS in Signal Green….
this looks stunning, one of the nicest colors I’ve seen on a 930 after the endless sea of Guards Red, Black & GP white….
