Sepia Brown 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe

I’m going to be upfront here, I don’t really like Sepia Brown on modern Porsches. So this paint-to-sample 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe, located in Pennsylvania, isn’t the car for me. However, Sepia Brown is a historic Porsche color and I have seen a variety of examples from the early years where it did look quite good. It is a color that has its fans. I just don’t find there to be enough areas of accent or trim on something like the 997 to help break things up. Being a non-metallic color it all ends up looking a little too flat and a little too brown. Perhaps on a GT2 or GT3 RS, with their various vents, wings, and strakes along with ample black trim, it would look quite good. In fact, thinking about it, that just might work.

Nonetheless, this particular 911 Turbo does look in remarkably good condition and with only 10,870 miles on it the mileage is quite reasonable as well. So don’t worry about whether I like it. It’s a good one.

One of the things I do like here is they have gone with a lighter color interior. I imagine I would have really hated this with a black interior. But Sand Beige looks pretty good as a contrast to the brown exterior. The interior itself also looks in very nice shape with little noticeable wear. While this Turbo is 10 years old the age doesn’t really show. It has sports seats and sport chrono for those interested and, of course, a 6-speed manual. It’s had a fairly recent service and comes with its original window sticker, but we aren’t told anything about the rest of its history.

Though it is a rare paint-to-sample 997TT and does look well cared for I think the asking price will prove to be too high. As I said Sepia Brown does have its fans, but ultimately I think the market here will be more limited than with some other PTS options and as such I don’t really know how much of a premium we should expect. The price isn’t too far out of line with other 997.1 Turbos, but you can easily find one for a good bit cheaper. It also looks like this one recently was on BaT and bidding failed to meet its reserve. I don’t think it’s with the same seller since that auction said the car was in Mississippi. None of that likely matters much with regard to what you should pay here, but it might be useful for tracking down any information about this 911. All in all, for what it is it looks great so if you’re a fan of Sepia Brown it definitely should be worth a look.

It looks like a skid mark and I don’t mean the good one.

I had a 72 Targa and I love sepia brown. I can’t stand the interior color though. Should be dark brown or if one is really brave….. green.

    P. S.
My 72 Targa was also sepia brown.
    Forgot to mention that. Lol.

Thank you, Porsche for helping me identify my absolute least favorite color on a car. I like bold and different, but this is another story.
