2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

In terms of buying-in on a Porsche 911 Turbo, bring your checkbook. Don’t get be wrong, there are some deals out there on 996 Turbos if you want a high-mileage Tiptronic car, but most of the time you are going to start in the $40,000 range and only go up from there. If you are anti-996, and some people are, then 997 is going to be your best bet to get your twin-turbo kicks for under $100,000. As luck would have it, this is exactly what we have today with this 2007 up for sale in New York. Even better, it has has the 6-speed manual gearbox!

2007 Porsche 911 GT3

I drone on about Porsche GT3 cars a lot and how expensive they can be and if a “regular” 911 is worth it for with the same money you could actually have a GT3. However, there seems to be an even better value when it comes to the GT3 ownership if you can’t get past the headlights and the interior of the 996, the 997.1 GT3. These seem to be overlooked on the used market for whatever reason and probably one of those reasons is the following 997.2 GT3 is as you might expect, an improved car. Still, if you offer up any GT3, much like this 2007 up for sale in Hollywood, at a more than reasonable price, how is going to say no?

2007 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG with 322,000 miles

For me, there is this constant back and forth between “They don’t make them like they used to” and “Newer cars can basically go forever with proper maintenance and repairs”. Today’s car falls in the latter half. Although I’m skeptical. Very skeptical. Why? In case you haven’t noticed the title, this is a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG with over 322,000 miles on the odometer. Yes, this 6.0 liter twin-turbocharged whale of a car that produces 604 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque has somehow racked up over 322,000 miles. According to the helpful Carfax, this car registered just over 29,000 miles in its first three years – a totally normal amount. Then the next five years saw the odometer jump to 200,000 miles. Six months later, 250,000 miles. That is 275 miles every single day for six months. How? Why?

2007 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate

Last week Carter took a look at a US-legal C5 Audi RS6 Avant that in terms of “super wagons” is right up there, and now that they are over 15 years-old, serious collectible vehicles. Thing is, you don’t get these amazing long bodies without some serious creative engineering and doing things like twin-turbocharging an already big V8. Mercedes-Benz is never one to be outdone, so they jumped into the game with the first-generation E55 AMG Estate and then went nuts on the W211 chassis with the supercharged E55 and 6.2 liter V8 E63. Today’s car is is the latter E63 that is just 1 or 62 examples produced for the 2007 model year for the US market. However, just like the RS6, big power means big issues, and judging by this car’s history, the E63 is not immune to that.

2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

I’m a big “value for money” guy. I guess that also means I’m cheap, but who cares how you define it. You’ll never find me paying full price for something or heaven forbid even a premium if I can find a better deal elsewhere. Sometimes this works out swimmingly, sometimes it goes up in flames. That comes with the territory. Today’s car, a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo up for sale in California, is in my eyes a great value for money car. Why is it? Outside of just existing as a borderline everyday super car that you can drive in total relaxation and comfort, some 10-12 years later, prices are about half of MSRP. However, this car is much cheaper than that. There is not one, but two big reasons for that. Let me explain.
