The Audi C4 platform has been a perennial favorite tuning platform; just the other day in my Facebook feed a quick video popped up of an original S4 putting out over 1,000 horsepower at a staggering 11,000 RPM on a dyno. If that alone doesn’t tell you a bit about the stoutness of the turbocharged 5-cylinder mill, then perhaps the multitude of 400+ horsepower examples burbling happily along would. At their right foot the owners hold back a soundtrack of 5 barking cylinders which produce tunes that sound roughly like Pavarotti was being squeezed to death by Zeus, replete with lightning bolt cracks and flashes of fire in the sky with every shift. But properly building an AAN or other turbocharged 5-cylinder to handle really heavily increased boost will quickly double the purchase price of your budget S4/S6. So, is it a better proposition to buy one that’s done?

If you are viewing this ad its not much I can tell you about this magnificent machine. A perfect blend of sophistication and performance. Back in 1995 this car was packed with all the luxuries we find in modern day cars. Heated seats, power side mirrors, power seats, phone, bose audio, power windows, you name it had it. The original radio even shows you the name of the song and artist that is playing on the radio today. What forward thinking, I never noticed that until about 2004 that technology in cars. I can go on and on about this car.
Up for sale is my 1995.5 Audi s6 2.2 turbo 5cylinder. I purchased the car from who I believed to be the second owner. The car was originally a California car from service records obtained. The first owner meticulously took the car in for its regular maintenance to Audi. The gentleman I purchased the car worked at a exotic car dealership. His dream was to make the car a track car. If spent allot of money on preventative maintenance and suspension. His life situation forced the sale of the car to me, which I was grateful.
My dream for the car was to make it a clean boosted 400hp wrx killer. Paint was rough so had the car repainted with Spies Hecker Paint in the original color. New windshield really brightened up the cars appearance. Ed at 034 Motorsports know me well, always calling with questions. Purchased upgraded fuel pump, cool air intake, fuel pump relay, silicone intercooler hoses, downpipes, Garrett GT2871r turbo kit all from 034 motorsports. I sure I’m forgetting many things. I wanted to make the car more modern so i put a stand alone ECU in the car DTAfast 80 s Pro. This ecu adds Launch control, and control every aspect you can imagine when it comes to tuning the car for your needs. Car also has Full custom 3inch exhaust system, which sounds amazing. Water methanol injection system to help keep temps down. Car is conservative right now with the power. Will need to tuned for your performance needs.
To sum everything up, the car has no dings, paint shines. Ac works, car runs great.
The bad never got to the interior yet, not bad but i wanted it to be perfect. Windshield reservoir has a leak. The fuel gauge is off, when it full it shows half tank. I tried to clean the lather seats and the product I used made them a little hard,†I was so pissedâ€. The sunroof does not open, I bought a used switch I haven’t installed yet. The check engine light is on due to the new ecu handling the engine. Diagnostics can be done to the car by plugging in laptop to the DTAfast 80 S Pro ECU.
This car is becoming harder and harder to find good examples in the us. This car will be on the road for another 20 years. This is at the moment the best Ive seen on the internet.
With this current set up , a good tune should put out over 320 AWH. Currently car has about 260 AWH. Would recommend a dyno tune after purchase.

Many things have been purchased and serviced on this car. Hate to see her go, but you will be getting a rock solid car that you will enjoy for years to come, that will blow the pants off allot of todays car. You get more looks than a modern Audi S6.
A lot of the heavy lifting has already been done on this car, with a fully upgraded motor and stand-alone ECU complimenting upgraded Porsche brakes and suspension. What that suspension is isn’t disclosed, but clearly the car is much lower than stock, and also sports a 3″ stainless exhaust. On top of that, it’s a 95.5 model (some day more desirable, others less) with a fresh and good looking respray – at least, from the photos that are shown. Along with some maintenance items, add those figures up and you’ll find the bill would be pretty steep. However, that said, there’s still a fair amount of work to do – including a custom tune to unleash the potential of the car. Inside, the interior isn’t the best but isn’t the worst, either – and the same could be said for the wheels. The Niche wheels are striking but out of character in my opinion for the car. It may sound cliche and I’m sure it’s what I always say, but some 17″ Boleros or S6 plus wheels would transform the look. If you really need 18″ wheels, I’d suggest that early European S8 wheels would be the key. But then there’s the price – at $17,500, could you replicate this package more to your taste? I think you probably could, and I think the price is likely a touch optimistic for the car in its current state. Perhaps someone who wants this exact package would disagree, but in my mind, I’d take a more conservatively built, more original example for less money than this particular example. Still, the C4 market is on the rise and if prices on this and other high-priced examples are seen, we could be seeing a turn in the market that will open the floodgates of these tuned and highly capable super-sedans.

New caption for a meme “This is at the moment the best Ive seen on the internet.” This might be a gem, but more likely its somebodies money pit that never met expectations and they threw in the towel. Some of the best built tuner C4S cars ever done have sold for ~18k, I doubt this is one of them.

How do you figure that the market for these cars is going up? $9k opening bid with zero bids and a crazy, $17.5k BIN now. Mods don’t add value and this is a $5k car at best, stock. Zero factory support for these cars these days as well.
@UrSDriver – posted that one back in the day, there was another listed recently. Agreed, only the best ones have brought big bucks.
@TM – Well, the market certainly isn’t going down on them; over the past few years I’ve been writing them up and the average value/ask has gone up between %20 and %40 percent in most cases. We’ve recently listed two C4s that sold in days at $6,500 – cars that would have been $5,000- $5,500 likely a year or two ago. And we’ve seen some really stellar examples clear $10,000 and even $15,000 in a few cases. It may not be a skyrocketing value increase but it’s there and the demand for good examples appears to be up.
The price is just not right with this one. I agree with ursdriver that the vest examples have brought around 18k. We’re talking 600 whp, well sorted daily drivers with brakes, suspension, chassis, and more all perfected.
I do agree that the market is improving on these. It’s keeping up with inflation at least. Certainly not investment worthy though!
