I guess I couldn’t stay aware from pretty and interesting 911s for very long – not that there’s anything wrong with that. While I sit inside awaiting our 48 hours of rain to cease why not take in the oceanic feel of this Cobalt Blue Metallic 1991 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet. Last week I featured an Amethyst 964 fitted with a white leather interior and in that case the interior didn’t really work for me. The contrast seemed too strong – though some commenters did enjoy it so there was appeal. Here we have a similar white leather interior, with similar black accents to that Amethyst Carrera, and I think the combination works extremely well. The contrast seems just right and the overall feel that these colors project fits the ethos of a Cabriolet to good effect. It certainly does not hurt that Cobalt Blue is such a stunning exterior color.

For a 911 with 25 years and more than 116K miles on it this 964 looks in particularly good condition. I always wonder about the upkeep involved with a white interior in an open-top car, but here it looks great. Whether that’s a function of really good care or perhaps a dearth of top-down miles the result is the same. The seats even appear to have retained a nice crispness to the leather. The ad states that it has a new 993 convertible top. I’m not sure if that’s a typo (meant to say 964) or whether it does have the top from a 993. Does anyone know whether the convertible tops between the two models can be exchanged? I’m not sure. That issue is the only thing that stands out on the surface as obviously problematic, but with bidding sitting well below where I’d expect perhaps there are other issues to be uncovered. Or perhaps this 964 just isn’t yet getting the attention it deserves. At the moment, it’s looking like a potentially nice bargain for what is a really beautiful color combination on the 964.
