Oh yellow, how will you make us feel today?
This 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera is wearing Racing Yellow, not to be confused with Speed Yellow, which is very clearly a different shade. Racing Yellow has a little lighter hue and a little more “pop” than what you are used to seeing. While some might not mind this color, I have to warn you the choice of interior leather probably isn’t what you are expecting. It seems to be why this example seems a little less expensive than the current market rate, so let’s peek inside and let me explain.

No, inside we find not the expected black leather, but rather the unusual shade of “Yachting Blue.” Yes, this car has a bright yellow exterior with a very subdued navy blue interior. By themselves, they work. Together? Maybe not so much. I just can’t imagine someone at Porsche thinking this would be a good general inventory car, so my guess is someone order this one like this. Also surprising is a fair amount of miles at nearly 38,000, so someone was driving this thing.
Now the price. I know this is a super early 991 build, but $68,000 seems reasonable given what any 991 is bringing in today’s market. I do think the value took a hit here with this color combo and the price certainly reflects that, but people are desperate enough for 911s that I think this one will sell easy. Either way, it is a cool example that you certainly won’t see everyday.

Must be a Michigan Wolverine fan. As such, I find it gross! 😆
wow, that is an interesting color combo…I could prob get used to it. I think since it is not an S and a PDK, the price is a bit high…unless you really want that color combo.
As a side note, I have been to Flowery Branch, GA…not real far from Road Atlanta. I recall a very good restaurant serving pecan encrusted trout.
I find myself liking the color combo, and the PDK. Regular, non S Carrera is where the desirability goes down though. Why custom order a car without it being an S, if not the wide body 4S or GTS?
