Stolen in Chicago: 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC ABC Exclusive

Update 8/1/18: According to the seller, the car was stolen in the Chicago-area yesterday. See the updated ad here for information.

There are cars from the 1980s, then there are cars that are so 1980s that you’d think they are an actual parody of the decade and just dressing up for a 1980s themed party that one of your friends is having on a Saturday night. As you might have noticed, one of these cars is the Mercedes-Benz 560SEC by German tuner ABC Exclusive. ABC Exclusive was one of the many tuners in the 1980s that pumped out crazy creations from workshops in Europe only to fade away after the money dried up only leaving behind a handful of their creations. We actually featured a BMW E24 6-Series a few years ago by them and it was just as outrageous as today’s car. Most of the time, cars like these are in pretty rough shape by now thanks to the liberal use of fiberglass and body filler, but this 1986 seems to have survived the test of time. Now that cars like these are actually old enough to be retro and cool, would you pony up the cash this C126 is expected to bring?

1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC

I don’t necessarily like gold as a color for cars in general, but today’s featured vehicle might be an exception for me. This 1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC up for sale in California not only shines from its golden paint, but it’s BBS RS wheels get in on the action as well. This European grey-market import has a shockingly low amount of miles in just 22,000 and change that probably explains why the condition is so great. The interesting thing is that I featured another gold SEC coupe with matching wheels a few years ago with a 1983 380SEC but that car wasn’t nearly as nice as this one and the price reflected it. The price for this pristine coupe? Probably what you would expect.

1982 Mercedes-Benz 500SEC

I’ve been pretty heavy in the Mercedes-Benz C126 the past month or so, but honestly I take them as they come. When it rains it pours and it seems like I’ve just been running across nice SEC, after nice SEC, after nice SEC. Today’s C126, a 1982 500SEC in Arizona is another great example of the Bruno Sacco coupe but this one is a little more special. This car is painted in the ultra-rare Cypress Green and if that wasn’t enough, it’s also a European-spec car that maintains all of its goodies that North American cars didn’t get. The photos and information aren’t that great with this car, but if a car ever had potential, it is this one. But who is willing to take the risk?

1990 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC with 15,400 miles

Earlier this week I checked out 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC in a vivid Signal Red for sale outside of London. I explained that even though I don’t really love red on Mercedes in general, certain models actually pull the color off pretty well. Today, we have another 560SEC in red although this one is a little more subdued with the shade of Garnet Red. In case you missed the title on this car, this SEC has a mere 15,400 miles on it. But the price? Oh boy, I hope you are sitting down. Maybe grab a glass of water, too.

1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC

I go back and forth on red Mercedes-Benz. On certain models like the SL, I think the color suits the car quite well. On sedans, I generally despise it. Coupes? Well, it can go either way in my eyes. This car, a 1989 560SEC for sale near London, I’m actually a fan of. Painted in Signal Red, this Bruno Sacco designed coupe is a lot of red to take in, but it’s far from garish in my opinion. Granted, the European-spec C126 looks really good in any color and Sacco himself that it is one of his favorite designs (outside of the door handles that he lost the battle with the engineers over). I must admit, I can’t argue with him.
