2008 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet

Did you really like the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera S in Anthracite Brown from a few weeks ago? Need even more brown? Boy, do I have the car for you.

This is a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet finished in Macadamia Metallic with Macadamia Metallic wheels, a Cocoa soft top, and a Natural Leather Cocoa interior. That should cover all of it, literally. I’m almost disappointed they didn’t paint the calipers brown as well. All joking aside, I think the result is fairly reasonable looking. You are correct if you guessed it was also ordered with the Tiptronic gearbox, but that is what you deal with when looking at modern 911 Cabs. So is there just too much brown, or is it just unique enough?

1998 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Just when it looks like 993 prices were stabilizing, here come the Carrera 4S! While the C4S 993 cars always brought a premium based on the good looks borrowed from the Turbo, all of a sudden these are bringing Turbo-like prices. Yes, it makes sense that the really low-mileage examples are bringing big money, but regular examples? Still into the six-figures and then some. This 1998 up for sale in Atlanta has a really healthy amount of miles with a little over 72,000, but the price? Hold your breath.

2004 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Just when I thought I’ve found the most unique color on a 996 Porsche Carrera 4s, along comes this. “This” being a 2004 C4S up for sale in Japan that is painted in the always lovely Ruby Star. We’ve seen this color before on the 964 and 991, but this is the first time I’ve seen it on the 996 body. Even crazier, they took the Ruby Star inside too and painted the center console, trim, and gauge cluster surround. Too much? Or classic Porsche?

2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

A few months back I went over the pro and cons of a wood inside a modern Porsche 911 when I took a look at a 2006 Carrera S with the rare Makassar Package. What that meant is there was a significant amount of wood trim on much of the interior. Personally, I loved it as it was a nice change from the usual amount of leather covering almost everything. I even really embrace the wood because as long as it doesn’t crack, it wears much better than leather and isn’t subject to showing dirt nearly as easily. I must not be the only one who feels this way as the wood inserts didn’t stop when transitioning to the 991 chassis.

This 2013 C4S up for sale in New Jersey is finished in a lovely shade of Dark Blue Metallic with the factory aero kit. Inside, Yachting Blue leather, yes, Yachting Blue, covers almost everything and the car is also equipped with the Mahogany interior package. Porsche, Yachting, and Mahogany wood. Nothing like playing to your demographic.

2005 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Depending on your location it might be beginning to get cold and snowy (or the cold and snow might be well underway!). That means for many 911s their time in the sun shall now take a brief hiatus as they are tucked into their respective garages awaiting the return of more hospitable weather. But not everyone likes to follow such a tack. For some their 911 must prove capable regardless of what the environment demands. At least within reason.

So I began to think about daily drivers and which 911s could serve such a purpose. Naturally that would lead me to one of the various all-wheel drive models and here I think we have the best all-around candidate: a 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, located in Washington, with 42,950 miles on it. I suppose if you deal with frequent snow you might want to have a little less power and save a little money so you’d opt for the regular Carrera 4. But that’s less fun and the C4S looks better than the regular 4. Also, it doesn’t snow all the time and if you live somewhere where it does snow all the time, then get yourself a Defender and let the 911 rest. For cold weather, maybe some light snow, and general fun when the roads are dry go for the 4S. And, of course, it’ll be more fun in the summer too!
