The 993 Cabriolet always has been, for me, a somewhat peculiar looking 911. The roundness of the 993 design begins to look a little overly squat once the roof is removed. There is a way in which all air-cooled 911s suffer from this phenomenon and there’s a fairly clear progression in squatness as we move from the 911SC/3.2 Carrera to the 964 and culminating with the 993.
So when I first began to look at this Iris Blue Metallic 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet those features seemed so exaggerated that even I was a little confused. It turns out that the aspect ratio of the pictures is off, but basically those pictures were confirming my usual perceptions of these 911s. Once I got the pictures into the correct aspect ratio the appearance came together much better and overall I like this Cab a good bit. Its colors are quite attractive and the condition looks quite good. The mileage is low at only 32,171 miles. The squatness is still there, but I think this is one of the better representatives of the model. If you’ve been looking for a 993 Cabriolet, then I think this one deserves a long look.

In a recent post of an Iris Blue 3.2 Carrera I mentioned that the color changed pretty significantly for the 993. I think we can see that distinction pretty clearly here. I’d like to mention a caveat though. This Iris Blue 993 looks much brighter blue than other versions I have seen, which tend to be darker and can possess a slight purplish hue in certain lighting. So I’m not really sure this actually is Iris Blue. This one is photographed under direct light and that could be accentuating its blue to greatest effect. At the very least I’d like to see the paint code to confirm along with paint meter readings to confirm it hasn’t been repainted (perhaps in the incorrect color).
If the color checks out, then I don’t really have a lot of other concerns with this 911. It’s said to be extensively documented and it looks really good. I especially like the way the contrasting interior also contrasts with the exterior color. It works together very, very well. The interior looks in nice shape throughout and other than the radio appears to be original.
The price is pretty high, even given the low mileage, but this is a really pretty 993. Verify the color and then enjoy the drive!

I have a ‘96 C4 cabriolet that is Iris Blue Metallic and it is not the same color as this one. It is the darker blue with a hint of purple that you describe. So either there was a change in the color year-to-year, or the seller is mistaken.
Mine has a grey top that matches the interior, which I like a lot better than this navy top which I think clashes with the lighter blue.
Seller (and previous seller) were offering the car for $57900 earlier.
You can see the actual color of the car in this listing:

Seller has obviously donked around with the current batch of pictures.
Do not like the blue in the ebay photos.
Regardless, don’t personally like the gray with blue. Reminds me of US civil war. Tan or beige or an orangey saddle would be pretty with blue.
eBay color is correct, but shows it at its purple-ist. Seller needs some outside-in-the-sun pics.
