Bringing $35,000 to a Porsche 911 party isn’t going to buy you much unless you want a 996 generation. Anything earlier you might be able to swing a previously salvaged convertible and anything later doesn’t have the depreciation capability to get down to that price point. However, a base 997.1 with some miles will maybe fit in that budget if you look hard enough. Wouldn’t you know it, that is exactly what we have here with this 2006 up for sale in New Jersey. The best part? It isn’t even a Tiptronic car!

If you want budget 911, here you go. Yes, it has 133,000 miles but it surely seems to be well kept and it isn’t all beat up. I know New Jersey scares you, but look at the Carfax report it lived most of it’s life in California and Nevada before coming to New York in 2019. I’m thrilled it has the 19″ Lobster claws and even other goodies like Sport Chrono, heated seats, and Bose audio.
To me, $34,000 seems like a reasonable price. Yes, another $10,000-12,000 will get you in a Carrera S, but we’re on a budget here. Just keep another thousand a year for service.

I wonder if the Cayman S from the same year range 2007-2010 will be a better buy for $35K. It’ll definitely have a lot less miles than this 911
Would look good in a decent colour but very ordinary in slate grey seems like most of the great Porsche colours are PTS these days but still not a ad buy
i think in today’s market that is a very good choice for the money….a cayman/boxter will not hold its value as well…at least if history is our guide
Porsche? More like Bore-che. Very boring and bland example with high mileage. Better options out there for the money.
Pay 10k more and you can get one with half the miles
The 911 price curve is pretty steep. The 130k that this one has on it makes the $35k asking price (mostly) reasonable. Want fewer miles, then pay more (much more ) $$.
I have a 997.1 in the garage that is almost ready to turn 150k miles. It has been VERY trouble free for me and I drive it along with an E38 and F250 daily. I figure this car (if properly maintained) will easily approach 200k – as I expect mine to eventually…..
YMMV as always….
