Today we have two of my favorite things when checking out cars for sale: paint-to-sample color and really high miles. I wouldn’t have guessed it would be a 2008 Porsche 911 Carrera, but here we are. The car is finished in some sort of paint-to-sample blue that I don’t know, but I do the miles are over 250,000. The selling dealer claims it is an original-owner car with all the miles added by that owner, and is now up for sale in Massachusetts. It surely isn’t the most perfect example ever given the miles, but for a cheap enough price, maybe worth the buy-in?

I wish this one has a little more info other than a bunch of random thoughts all typed in caps lettering, but welcome to eBay. The condition is about what I expected from a 997.1 in terms of this many miles with peeling soft-touch buttons and worn leather, although I expected much worse. The actual body is holding up nicely given how brutal the greater Boston area can be, especially in the winter. I really wish there was more info on terms of service history and something on the IMS bearing, but I guess you have to dig for yourself.
I am really curious as to what this one ends up at and if it sells. I can’t ever recall seeing a 997 with this kind of miles on it, although I am sure they are out there. I looked at this other paint-to-sample 2008 back in October with a more than fair asking price of $38,000, so that might be some sort of guide where this one might fall. I think somewhere in the mid-$20,000 range is fair as long as the service checks out. I’ll be watching this one for sure.

Actually, looks pretty nice given the mileage…but one would think that the next owner is in for an engine overhaul. Also interesting that the buyer spent the money for PTS, but did not go for an S model…
I don’t understand why someone wasted a PTS allocation on this color. It’s too similar to blues that were available as standard options on the 997. Now Mexico blue I could understand. For me, this one is a hard pass.
It bid up to $25k reserve not met. I am not sure what this seller is smoking but that was ll the money. 2 years ago $30k would have bought you a mint 50k miles base 997.1. Now people are expecting $30k for a 250k mile car. No thanks.
