I personally regard the 991 generation Porsche 911 Turbo as the “cheat code” of the automotive world. Especially the Turbo S. It’s one thing to have a car do 0-60 runs in 2.6 seconds. It’s a whole other thing to have a car do 0-60 runs in 2.6 seconds and be totally comfortable doing so while being able to drive it 365 days a year. Not to mention it be reasonably reliable and won’t kill you in service costs. Where do I sign?

As you noticed, this is a paint-to-sample car finished in the legendary Gulf Blue with a little extra CXX surprise of Gulf Blue seat inserts and trim. Sometimes I think the Gulf livery gets played out with the orange, but this one has a perfect amount of flare without going too crazy. A reasonable 37,000 miles over the past seven years means this was maybe a daily driver, but certainly not a workhorse.
The asking price of $146,000 feels like it is the ballpark considering this is probably a 1-of-1 example with the paint and matching interior. I’d spring the extra couple grand to avoid buying a black over black one without a question and I think you’ll be rewarded down the line with people looking for cars that aren’t so plain. Maybe one day for me.

I think this ia very fair price at current market values. As you say, it may be 1 of 1 in this configuration and I think it is more desirable than the slightly fatter current models . The 37k miles is just enough so that one knows it was regularly driven and probably not suffering from storage.
We may look back several decades from now and say that the 997 Mezger motor and the 991 as whole were probably the peak of the Porsche ICE era. Somewhere between the two many collectibles will be found.
