2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet

Just to wash the bad taste out of our mouth from the paint-to-sample 993 Turbo earlier this week, I thought I’d look at a shade that is a lot more pleasant. This is a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet finished in paint-to-sample … something purple. The seller says it is “Lavender,” however I don’t recall that being an option for the paint-to-sample cars. This looks much more like Vesuvio Metallic or a shade very close to that. It doesn’t scream purple like an Ultraviolet, but rather has a little bit of a grey tint in it. Personally, I like it. But maybe not on this exact example.

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, Paint to sample metallic lavender a one off paint choice, this car had a $109 MSRP, Runs excellent with no issues , no warning lights, New tires all around, Tiptronic trans shifts well, car is very tight , 19 inch wheels, Cold AC everything working as it should, All books, two keys, small scrape to front bumper as seen in photos. Compression is 235-245 Across all cylinders… There are no leaks the bottom is dry, Motor was rebuilt but I do not have a record, a PPI was performed and the car checked out very well with the Porsche tech very impressed w the car. Upgraded stereo speakers and a custom enclosed subwoofer on the passenger side foot well to the left. This is a car that has been driven and serviced. NO RESERVE…… Clean Title, NO issues more photos and car fax a Aaronruskin.com

As you noticed, this is a 997 Cabriolet with the Tiptronic gearbox. Not exactly the enthusiasts first choice when it comes to picking a 911. Even more, the car has over 163,000 miles, a scrape on the front bumper, and of course a custom audio system that I’m sure was handled with care. Basically everything you don’t want when looking for your ideal 911.

The starting price of $27,500 is more than reasonable as it sits, so I guess if you are into just cruising and want a cheap 997, this is maybe it. So while I really enjoy the color, I think everything else kills me on this one.

That has to be one of the cleanest looking stereo upgrades I’ve ever seen. That subwoofer enclosure in the passenger footwell looks OEM! I’m actually really impressed. That color is boring. It’s just another dark color with some hint of purple. That gold 993 is so much cooler than this car will ever be. Good for somebody enjoying this car for 170k miles! It was probably a daily driver. So good for them. At least it’s a fun car to spend that much time in.

I agree with Ricky. I’m glad they enjoyed the drive. But $27K for a car with limited service records, a Tip, and 170K miles is a hard pass.

yes, too many miles and open questions…spend a few $$ more and get something better unless you must have purple
